Children’s Programs

UCPWA offers several children’s programs for children with and without disabilities.

Camp HOPE (helping others progress equally) is an after-school program for children with disabilities and allows participants to gain a variety of learning opportunities within the classroom and outside in various community settings.  The program is fun and exciting and offered Monday – Friday from 2 pm to 5:30 pm.  We have separate camps for adults and children.

HEARTS Respite provides stipends to the families or primary caregivers who have children with disabilities to take advantage of temporary relief from day-to-day care-giving.  Respite services are made possible through private support and a grant from the Alabama Department of Abuse and Prevention (formerly Children’s Trust Fund).

Transportation Program

UCP of West Alabama offers a transportation program called Rides No Limits to provide free transportation services to people with disabilities in Tuscaloosa and the immediate surrounding areas.  Once approved, individuals may utilize the program by calling to schedule a ride.  The program operates on Monday – Friday from 5 pm to 9 pm; and every other weekend from 9 am to 6 pm.
