As a founder of Traumatic Brain Injury Resources of Alabama, I would like to briefly summarize how this website originated and the contribution it is intended to provide to those afflicted with Traumatic Brain and Spinal Cord Injuries.

The design and development of TBI Resources was initiated in the summer of 2011, when we perceived a lack of easily accessible information for TBI / SCI patients and their care-givers, to the variety of services they required. We decided to invest the time necessary to develop a thorough understanding of what those critical needs were prior to moving forward. To gain that knowledge, we scheduled a series of meetings with patients, caregivers and service providers in several geographical regions throughout the state. It was determined that the design of the site had to be user friendly, when searching for resources in every market and offer as wide a variety of services as possible.

After 2 1/2 years of research a list of 2400+ resources, available to Alabama residents, was complied and posted in 12 distinct categories on the newly designed site. The Traumatic Brain Injury Resources of Alabama website was officially launched in August of 2014 as a free online data base.
