The Scalamobil Wheelchair Stairclimbing System is a powered stair transport for wheelchair designed to transport wheelchair users up and down staircases. The unit is compatible with almost all manual wheelchairs. To connect the unit, the wheelchair is backed into the adapter’s wheel guards and secured with a clamping system. A padded headrest assures the passenger’s comfort.
The unit may be used on virtually any completely dry staircases, including those that are carpeted, made of wood, marble, plastic, metal, etc. The unit will fit on curving staircases or narrow steps (as narrow as 4.5 inches deep), depending on the wheelchair size. The unit can even climb staircases with steps up to 8 inches high.
