Glenwood leads the state of Alabama in providing behavioral health care and educational services for individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder and severe emotional disturbances. Our services are provided in a least restrictive setting, through a continuum of care, with the highest respect for individuals and families served. In addition to direct care services, Glenwood provides consultation and training for mental health and educational professionals and promotes research in these specialized areas.
The Center for Child and Adolescent Development (CCAD) was formed in September 2005 to continue and expand on the work of the David Monsky Developmental Clinic which was originally begun in the late 1950s (under another name) as a diagnostic & guidance clinic for children with multiple challenges.
Developmental Screenings
Developmental Screenings for infants and toddlers at risk for developmental delays
Mental Health Consultation
Observation, recommendations and training provided by mental health clinicians regarding typical stages of childhood development, addressing areas of concern, and offering considerations for intervention services, including behavioral support strategies
Mental Health Counseling
Individual counseling for children 5 years of age and younger
Family counseling for children and adolescents with their family
Speech and Language Assessments and Therapy
Diagnostic assessment and/or therapy for children who present with, or are at risk
