I enjoy working with a variety of people and the issues they face throughout the course of their lives. My approach is genuine and sincere, and my goal is to meet the client where he or she is and begin there. I tend to use the theoretical orientation that best suits the client and situation, and so my approach would be considered eclectic. Different people need different things from the counseling, coaching or consulting process.
I have 2 speciality groups: military & children. My work w/military members was related to all aspects of deployment, combat stress, loss/grief, couple/family stress, depression, etc. I spent nine years at Yale Univ. Child Study Center, as a Clinical Fellow, then later as a member of the clinical faculty.
At Yale Univ. I worked with adolescents inpatient, rode with police officers on crisis calls, and served as child consultant to Yale Univ. Law School Daycare. I have extensive experience with developmental delays, behavioral & adjustment issues, learning difficulties, and trauma. I also have considerable experience supporting their parents through these challenges.
